Aviation Instructor

Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a highly qualified Aviation Instructor of Practice to join our team. As a key member of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, you will be responsible for teaching flight and ground school curricula to high school students.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Conduct safety classes and assist in the scheduling of flight students in the sim lab
- Collaborate with school counselors and other educators to provide career learning and field experiences
- Make course-related recommendations to building administration and participate in CTE advisory committees
- Set high expectations for students and promote a culture of learning and aspirational planning
- Bachelor's degree in Aircraft Operations or related field
- Valid FAA licenses in Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, CFIA, CFII, and Multi Engine
- ATP or 1,000-Hour RATP certification preferred
- Master's degree in Airport Management or Aviation Management a plus
- Prior teaching experience in an Aviation career pathway field
- Successful experience raising the achievement of urban students at the high school level
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with students, families, and staff
Salary: $62,000 - $90,000 per year
