We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at St. Croix Hospice. As a Music Therapist, you will provide music therapy services to patients under the direction of our clinical supervisor or clinical director.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Music Therapy Services: Deliver music therapy sessions to patients, following the individualized plan of care and under the direction of the clinical supervisor or clinical director.
- Assess Patient Needs: Assess patients for medical indications for music therapy services and perform assessments to determine the effectiveness of therapy.
- Develop and Implement Therapy Plans: Treat patients to relieve symptoms and provide psychological, psychosocial, physical, and spiritual comfort through music therapy interventions.
- Collaborate with Clinical Team: Direct and aid patients through music therapy interventions to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, agitation, restlessness, depression, pain, emotional distress, spiritual distress, and social isolation.
- Document Patient Progress: Maintain accurate records of patient progress, including clinical notes, problem charting, and coordination notes.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Teams: Participate in interdisciplinary group and organization in-service education programs as needed.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy.
- Certification: Completion and passing of the National Certification Exam (CBMT) credentials of MT-BC Music Therapy Board Certified preferred.
- Driving Requirements: Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.
