Job Overview

Purpose of the Role

The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory within the Tissue Bank. This position is essential for maintaining compliance with both State and Federal Regulations as well as AATB Standards. The role encourages Lean Practices throughout the organization, including participation in brainstorming sessions and related initiatives. The ideal candidate is resourceful, meets deadlines, and effectively manages multiple tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare the Inventory Control Area in accordance with established SOPs.
  2. Maintain precise inventory records for post-processing and quarantine products, both frozen and at room temperature.
  3. Execute the disposition of nonconforming products as instructed.
  4. Handle all data entry and documentation related to tissue management.
  5. Possess a thorough understanding of the information contained in the Tissue Bank Manuals.
  6. Perform duties under supervision while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  7. Stay informed about applicable regulations and standards regarding the storage, handling, labeling, and inspection of tissue.
  8. Stage tissues for sterilization and manage the receipt of tissues post-sterilization.
  9. Oversee the receipt of donors and tissues for processing.
  10. Coordinate scheduling, sending, and receiving of tissues for sterilization while monitoring freezer conditions and responding to alarms in the Tutela System.
  11. Generate daily reports to manage the Inventory Area and address any discrepancies.
  12. Collaborate with various operational departments to enhance inventory accuracy.
  13. Reconcile tissue inventory and facilitate the transfer of released products for distribution.
  14. Dispose of donors and tissues as per SOPs and work instructions.
  15. Ensure proper documentation for all tissue inventory transfers.
  16. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate Degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 years of relevant experience.

Essential Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.

Working Conditions

This position primarily involves indoor work, requiring standing and walking throughout the facility. Occasional warehouse duties may be necessary. Weekend shifts will be rotated among department employees, and evening shifts may be required as needed. The role may also involve being 'on call' as necessary.

Physical Requirements

The candidate must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs and operate both manual and automatic hand trucks and pallet jacks.
