Position Summary:

As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of freight and ensuring efficient operations. Your role will involve:
  • Securing external carriers for available loads.
  • Negotiating compensation rates and obtaining signed confirmations.
  • Following up with carriers regarding pickup and delivery, and ensuring proof of delivery is collected for billing purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and secure carrier equipment for loads, utilizing external contacts and DAT Services to find available resources.
  • Negotiate payment rates in alignment with company standards, adjusting based on load significance. Ensure signed confirmations are received.
  • Onboard new carriers by providing contracts and profiles, ensuring they understand company policies.
  • Maintain communication with carriers to guarantee timely pickups and deliveries, and to collect signed proof of delivery to meet billing requirements.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills:
  • Experience in dispatch or planning, particularly in flatbed and step-deck environments.
  • Familiarity with van operations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in AS400 systems.
  • Strong data entry and communication skills.
  • Experience in brokerage is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
