Job Summary:
AdventHealth Central Florida is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing behavioral health team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects, and provide trauma-informed psychotherapy and counseling to individuals, families, and groups to address mental health challenges and promote resilience.
- Collaborate effectively with our primary care providers, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated whole person care and educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing and improving overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and demonstrate strong communication skills, medical decision-making skills, and a caring and professional attitude at all times.
Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and active BLS certification.
- Valid, current Florida Medical License and DEA license required.
- Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license and BLS & ACLS certification.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time opportunity in an outpatient setting, Monday through Friday, with hospitals covered by AH Clermont/Winter Garden.
