We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Ambulatory Care Nurse to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, education, and support to patients and families in our pediatric ambulatory care department.

About the Role
This is a full-time, 36 hour per week position, working variable day shifts, onsite. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care and guidance to clinical staff, under the direction of physicians at the site.
In this role, you will:
1. Provide precepting and mentorship to new employees, supporting them in their transition to the role of a Pediatric Ambulatory Care Nurse.
2. Participate in the development and implementation of education programs for staff members, focusing on clinically related issues.
3. Assess clinical competency and participate in the evaluation process of the clinical staff, both at 90 days and annual evaluations.
4. Work closely with patients and their families as an advocate for health maintenance of children and promotes a positive public image in all interactions with families, vendors, and the general public.

- Ability to work well under pressure to prioritize and complete required tasks and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner
- Experience working with various levels within an organization
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; candidates hired without a BSN must obtain the degree within 5 years from date of hire
• Current certification in Basic Life Support training from the American Heart Association required
• Valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio required; Multistate License (MSL) required within 90 days of hire date for departments that provide telenursing services or care to patients outside Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred;
