The Environmental Services Associate II plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of both the interior and exterior communal areas of the facility. This position involves the proper operation of various machines and equipment essential for maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage waste disposal in common areas, ensuring trash is properly discarded and receptacles are regularly disinfected.
- Maintain carpets and flooring through the use of vacuums, extractors, and buffing machines.
- Evaluate and report any damage to floors, carpets, tiles, and equipment to the direct supervisor promptly.
- Ensure cleanliness of outdoor furniture and designated smoking areas.
- Conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection of resident rooms prior to new admissions or as required.
- Assist in monitoring department inventory, restocking supplies, and notifying management of any shortages or excesses.
- Complete detailed cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in janitorial or floor care, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in operating cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, and carpet cleaners.
- Ability to follow a checklist and complete tasks systematically.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Requires moderate to heavy physical activity, including lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally and 45 pounds frequently.
- Involves constant standing, walking, and grasping, with frequent bending and reaching.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals is common.
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases.
- Frequent interactions with residents, family members, and visitors.
