About the Role

Farnsworth Group, a leading engineering, architecture, and surveying firm, is seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Chief to join our team. As a Survey Crew Chief, you will be responsible for leading a team of surveyors in the field, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection, and providing expert guidance on surveying techniques and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of surveyors in the field, providing guidance and oversight to ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
  • Conduct ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Layout, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Perform boundary research and surveys, utilizing expertise in Indiana Rule 12 and Ohio Chapter Standards.
  • Conduct topographic surveys of small sites to large farm surveys, utilizing ATV's and other equipment as needed.
  • Develop and implement survey plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data collection.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure survey data meets project requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in property surveys, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Layout.
  • Proficiency with Trimble GPS, Total Station, and Data Collectors.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to read construction plans and execute field staking.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel 50-60% required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oil & Gas Pipeline experience.
  • DOT experience.
  • UAV license.
