Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Adult Anesthesiology Division at the Medical College of Wisconsin. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to our patients, working closely with our anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Administer general and local anesthesia to patients
  • Maintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors, including testing and calibration
  • Prepare patients to be effectively monitored
  • Monitor patients under anesthesia
  • Make recommendations regarding anesthetic care plans
  • Perform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure they are recovering well
  • Responsible for the operation of anesthesia equipment to monitor patients while delivering direct anesthesia care
  • Provide direct patient care before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality
  • Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews
  • Review the complete patient medical history to confirm its authenticity with the patient/family to ensure it is accurate with the physical exams and pre-procedure interviews
  • Administer/order required diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Work with Anesthesiologists to determine the next step of prep for the procedures and begin the stages of prepping the patient for the procedure
  • Employ CPR or other emergency procedures as indicated
  • Perform various administrative duties that might involve collecting medical records, conducting patient chart reviews, and following up with patients/families pre or post procedures
Requirements
  • Previous CRNA experience in Adult Anesthesiology or Health Care experience a plus
  • Minimum Education: CRNA: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
  • Certification: Candidates must be either a Certified Nurse Anesthetist or board eligible for certification
  • Licensure: Wisconsin licensure or eligible
  • AHA BCLS and/or ACLS
