We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Linux Operations Engineer to enhance our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Linux system administration tasks, including operating system installation, updates, LDAP management, DNS configuration, DHCP setup, Samba file sharing, SSH, VNC, and user/group administration.
- Establish and configure Linux servers, ensuring seamless data sharing with other systems, including Windows-based environments.
- Evaluate system vulnerabilities using tools such as SecScan and Nessus, implement system hardening measures, and conduct regression testing at both system and application levels.
- Administer and implement antivirus solutions to safeguard systems.
- Utilize shell scripting (Bash and others) to enhance efficiency in system administration, troubleshooting, and automation tasks.
- Execute Windows system administration duties, including OS installation, updates, Active Directory management, Remote Desktop configuration, and policy implementation.
- Set up Windows servers (e.g., Server 2019, Server 2022) and clients (e.g., Windows 7, 8, 10, 11), ensuring compatibility and data sharing with Linux servers.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments on Windows systems, apply hardening techniques, and perform regression testing.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator in similar programs and contracts.
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution is required; alternatively, five (5) years of additional experience may substitute for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ (Sec+), or the ability to obtain it.
- Basic knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and requirements.
- Familiarity with router and switch configuration, essential for system hardening and compliance scanning.
- Experience with Elastic (ELK) Stack configuration and user interface.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to streamline system administration and automation tasks.
- Experience in installing, integrating, and troubleshooting Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software on both Windows and Linux servers.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Current and active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
