The Senior Financial Risk Specialist plays a crucial role in the formulation of quantitative and analytical frameworks to enhance the organization's interest rate and liquidity risk management strategies.
This position also encompasses support for transactions and reporting related to securities, foreign exchange, interest rate swaps, and borrowings. Furthermore, the Senior Financial Risk Specialist will oversee all requests from Internal Audit and External Regulatory bodies.Key Responsibilities
- Formulate quantitative and analytical frameworks to bolster the firm's interest rate and liquidity risk management strategies.
- Spearhead the preparation and reporting of asset-liability scenarios and models, including cash flow models and liquidity and capital stress assessments.
- Engage in and manage administrative tasks associated with Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate Swaps, Securities, and Borrowing transactions.
- Direct Model Risk Management documentation activities and address findings promptly.
- Oversee Regulatory, Audit, and Compliance inquiries.
- Ensure adherence to third-party vendor management protocols and maintain data integrity.
- Align with Northwest's risk appetite.
- Contribute to the budgeting process, particularly in generating net interest income.
- Compile management reports.
- Prepare various disclosures and schedules for mandatory quarterly and annual reports.
- Assist in the Finance Transformation Initiative utilizing Workday ERP.
- Propose strategies for enhancing profitability and improving operational procedures.
- Reduce non-payroll departmental expenses.
- Cultivate customer service standards.
- Pursue continuous education opportunities.
- Optimize the use of available technology tools.
- Manage personal workload and workflow effectively.
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete special projects as assigned.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Banking.
Work Experience
- 8 years of relevant risk analytical experience in the financial services sector.
- 8 years of experience with fixed income securities, derivatives, or stress testing.
