Position Overview

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within the Medical/Surgical unit, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a focus on those experiencing stroke and cardiovascular conditions. This role requires a commitment to patient care and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and manage narcotics under supervision.
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including personal assistance with daily activities such as bathing and dressing.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
  • Assist patients with mobility and positioning needs.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions, reporting any changes to the appropriate medical staff.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Support physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families on health care practices and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Manage nursing administrative tasks and ensure adequate supply levels.

  • Demonstrate understanding of patient growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and participate in initiatives to reduce medical errors.
  • Maintain compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Provide exceptional service to all patients and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to occupational hazards.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited LPN program.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse license required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
