Job Description

As a Senior Purchasing Agent, you will play a critical role in supporting our purchasing and construction departments to ensure timely delivery of homes. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all contractors and vendors are approved and contracted to work with us at competitive prices that meet predetermined schedules and company expectations.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate bids and updated costs each month, ensuring contracts are complete and accurate prior to new community starts, and analyzing purchase orders on job start reports. Additionally, you will assist with the creation and maintenance of specification documents, maintain vendor contact lists, and perform related administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Sciences, or related discipline; 4+ years of experience in residential homebuilding Purchasing or Operations can be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 4+ years of experience recruiting, negotiating with, and interpreting/enforcing scopes of work for a large trade base
  • Experience working with complex option offerings and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of construction estimating/P.O. driven software (Newstar, Sage, Buildsoft, FAST)
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities or projects

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
