Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient construction and reliable operation of Google Quantum AI's quantum computing systems, facilitating rapid research and development on quantum platforms. You will be responsible for designing manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes, as well as implementing DfX practices for PCB-based electronics, microwave components, and wiring. You will identify opportunities to enhance in-house procedures for manufacturing, continuously improve lead times and quality performance with key partners, provide technical insights for supplier strategies, and establish a foundation for a manufacturing engineering team.

Compensation: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills and experience. Key Responsibilities
  • Design manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes for microwave and electromagnetic components utilized in Google's quantum computing systems.
  • Establish DfX practices applicable to designers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers for PCB-based electronics, microwave components, and wiring.
  • Conduct technical assessments and provide guidance to vendors regarding manufacturing capabilities and processes related to quality and lead times.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance the manufacturing performance of key partners.
  • Identify additional manufacturing engineering and production testing roles required as the quantum fleet evolves.
