Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Safety Officer to join our team at DePaul University. As a Public Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patrol activities and respond to incidents on campus, including burglaries, thefts, assaults, and medical emergencies.
  • Monitor lobby entrances and control access to unauthorized areas, observing and questioning suspicious persons.
  • Provide escort services for students, faculty, and staff, as well as hospital transports for sick and injured individuals.
  • Test and monitor emergency equipment and radio transmissions, ensuring that our campus is prepared for any situation.
  • Assist external law enforcement agencies during dignitary visits and monitor student events that serve alcohol.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of security-related experience or an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility to drive a university vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
