Position Overview
The Cesar E. Chavez Department of Chicana/o and Central American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a senior faculty position in Expressive Cultures and/or Histories of the Americas, Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities, or Performance. We seek an interdisciplinary scholar at the level of Associate or Full Professor who can contribute to the department's excellence and diversity.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Chicana/o and Central American Studies, including Expressive Cultures and/or Histories of the Americas, Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities, or Performance.
- Conduct research and publish scholarly work in their area of expertise.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program that complements the department's strengths and expands into new areas.
- Contribute to the department's service and leadership, including mentoring students, serving on departmental and university committees, and participating in faculty governance.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or other terminal degree in hand at time of application.
- A record of research, teaching, and service that complements departmental strengths or expands into new areas, contributing to excellence and diversity.
- Candidates should be eager to help build an engaged, intellectually transformative, diverse, and growing department, including making a significant contribution to the undergraduate and PhD program in Chicana/o and Central American Studies.
