We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Admitting Worker to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our ambulatory clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience
- Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry and verification of insurance and/or third-party coverage
- Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments with accuracy and efficiency
- Utilize office equipment and technology, including multi-line telephone systems and computer software
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or administrative setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math skills and ability to maintain accurate records
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs
- Experience working with electronic health records and scheduling software
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese
