Surgical Technician Orthopedics Specialist

The Surgical Technician is an integral member of the surgical team, providing assistance to the surgeon and other team members during surgical procedures. This role requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during medical procedures, setting up a sterile field with all required items
- Handle highly technical medical instruments during surgery
- Prepare and protect the sterile field during surgery
- Report observations and immediate procedural needs
- Properly handle and rotate sterile supplies and contaminated items
- Implement infection control procedures
- Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required for GS-5
- One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7
- Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for GS-9
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in complex Operating Room settings, with a strong understanding of surgical care, instrument handling, and sterile field techniques. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail is essential for this role.
