This position is part of a Union environment, offering both full-time and part-time opportunities.
Available Shifts:
7 AM - 3 PM & 3 PM - 11 PM
The ideal Certified Nursing Aide / CNA candidate will be available to work on weekends and some holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of nursing staff, the Certified Nursing Aide / CNA plays a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and personal needs of residents are met.
Technical Skills Required:
- Understanding of the healthcare requirements for elderly residents.
- Familiarity with Infection Control protocols, including the use of Protective Equipment and Universal Precautions.
- Knowledge of assisted feeding, nutrition documentation, and accurate record-keeping.
- Awareness of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and the psychological needs of geriatric individuals.
- Competence in measuring vital signs and documenting findings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff across various departments, maintain composure during emergencies, and uphold confidentiality regarding resident information.
Essential Duties:
- Monitor residents and report any changes in condition or incidents to nursing staff.
- Assist in investigations related to accidents or incidents.
- Participate in resident care meetings, both informal and formal.
- Execute tasks as outlined in written assignments, which encompass resident care activities such as personal grooming, hygiene, mobility assistance, and ensuring proper body alignment.
- Aid in meal service, resident feeding, and meal documentation.
- Ensure resident rooms are tidy and that call cords are easily accessible at all times.
- Conduct rounds on assigned residents at the start of each shift and at least hourly thereafter.- Manage clean and soiled linens.
- Support the orientation and training of new CNAs as needed.
- Attend all mandatory in-service training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation:
Starting at $21.84 per hour
