Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Clackamas County Children's Commission. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of young children in our infant/toddler and preschool classrooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom Teacher in providing high-quality educational services to children aged 0-5, including assessments, individualizations, and lesson planning.
  • Help create and maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  • Support the Teacher in maintaining accurate records, including child observation notes, lesson plan notes, and attendance.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of children at all times.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other program activities as required.
Requirements
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent experience.
  • Associate's or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in an early childhood education classroom or certified child care center.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including low-income and special needs children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current Oregon Food Handler's Card and First Aid/CPR certification.
Working Conditions
  • Extensive standing, walking, and moderate sitting, kneeling, and bending.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
