Position Overview:
The Spice House is seeking enthusiastic Spice Merchants (Retail Sales Associates) who possess a passion for food and cooking, along with the ability to share this enthusiasm with our customers. Ideal candidates will have prior retail experience and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. Employees will be scheduled for 2-4 shifts per week, during operational hours, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service in a specialty food retail setting.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout their shopping experience.
  • Establish rapport through engaging conversations and provide honest recommendations tailored to customers' preferences.
  • Process customer transactions using our point-of-sale and web pickup systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor as directed by management.
  • Support the upkeep of the back stock area and assist in setting up product displays on the sales floor.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of retail experience or relevant experience preferred.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with a strong dedication to customer service.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively when engaging with customers and making sales.
  • Calm and professional demeanor with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work weekends.
  • Availability to work between 8-20 hours per week, with flexible shifts during operational hours, including weekends.
  • A genuine passion for food and flavor is essential.

Compensation:
$15.00 per hour
