Position Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to assist clients by delivering comprehensive mortgage loan insights, outlining associated costs, and collecting essential information required for processing mortgage applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify the most suitable loan options for clients.
  • Develop marketing strategies to attract referrals from real estate agents and builders.
  • Offer expert advice on loan inquiries concerning pricing, product details, documentation needs, payment structures, closing expenses, and qualification criteria.
  • Facilitate the completion of applications and collect necessary documents in alignment with the specific loan type, such as FHA, VA, Conventional, or portfolio loans.
  • Foster relationships with realtors and other stakeholders by delivering exceptional service and generating referrals from both internal and external sources.
  • Promote and originate Trustmark's Community Lending Loans and associated products.
  • Collaborate with the mortgage department to support the origination and servicing of Community lending offerings.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in originating agency-eligible mortgage loans or equivalent expertise in underwriting or processing such products.
  • Must be eligible for NMLS certification.
  • In-depth understanding of government and conventional mortgage loan regulations and requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the qualifying factors across various mortgage loan products.
  • Capability to evaluate all documentation for accuracy and compliance with agency and portfolio standards.
  • Familiarity with appraisal criteria and standards.
  • Ability to conduct tax return analyses as mandated by conforming loan guidelines.
  • Proficient in full disclosure and management of applications in accordance with compliance standards.
  • Skilled in engaging with a diverse range of borrowers, housing-related entities, and community organizations.
  • Working knowledge of financial compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Sales acumen.
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Preferred educational background includes junior college or two-year college training.
