About the Position

ORAU is seeking a qualified candidate to work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture- (USDA) as an ORAU employee. This exciting work will last one or more years, and the successful candidate will become a temporary employee of ORAU assigned to the Research Station in a Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Work Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support managers and research scientists in the creation of interactive web maps and applications.
  • Publication of geospatial data online as web services, creation and management of FGDC compliant metadata.
  • Creation of basic statistical reports using a variety of statistical tools.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or master's in a field of GIS.
  • Detailed knowledge of the theories and practices in GIS that allow you to perform the essential duties.
