Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Atrium Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing all duties associated with the acquisition, processing, and submission of radiographic images. You will work under indirect supervision to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient radiation protection and safety.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm their understanding.
  • Review diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided, and communicate questionable orders to radiologists for final approval.
  • Take verbal orders from providers and enter them into the RIS system.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies, and document billing codes for procedures performed.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with radiologists, working independently outside the department with providers.
  • Observe patients during radiologic exams and make appropriate interventions or contact primary caregivers for instruction.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring for other personnel, and identify and correct problems as necessary.
  • Utilize supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner, and maintain required continuing education and certifications for modality.
Requirements
  • High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT.
