About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
  • Certification through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) preferred.
  • Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, or ACLS Instructor certification within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, or PALS Instructor certification within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 6 months of employment start date.

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital is a 404-bed tertiary care hospital and a Level II Trauma Center. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and are a teaching hospital in collaboration with UCF College of Medicine. Our hospital is conveniently located in the Heart of Kissimmee, with easy access to Orlando, St. Cloud, Celebration, and Poinciana.
