Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist - Patient Care Specialist will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting. This role requires a strong understanding of respiratory therapy principles and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic competencies within orientation and provide satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.
  • Conduct mechanical ventilation, medicated aerosol delivery, airway clearance therapy, patient monitoring, oxygen and humidity therapy, and special procedures such as CPR and bronchoscopy.
  • Comply with all policies and standards, including annual training and the UH Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients and adhere to all requirements for safe and secure handling.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory required; Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory preferred.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with license to practice in Ohio required.
  • At least one year of recent experience preferred, with previous work in a hospital setting also preferred.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position, 18 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. Employees who work 16-34 hours per week will be awarded a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

The physical demands of this role include standing frequently, walking frequently, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 50 pounds frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are also required.
