Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cook to join our team at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. As a key member of our food service production team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for patients, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals using recipes and production documents.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to HACCP and infection control guidelines.
  • Operate steamers, ovens, grills, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Test food for quality and adjust cooking processes as needed.
  • Participate in department meetings and quality processes to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining the food production storage area.
  • Store and rotate stock accurately, monitoring inventory levels and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures, reporting any malfunctions to the Food Production Manager.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in food service production or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
