Wright Tree Service is seeking a highly skilled Groundworker Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our arboriculture maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient removal of trees and other vegetation.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in various activities, including cutting brush, loading trucks, working around hazardous equipment, and enforcing on-the-job safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Cuts Brush and Logs: Utilize chainsaws to cut and clear brush and logs from work sites.
- Loading and Unloading Trucks: Safely load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
- Works Around Hazardous Equipment: Operate around heavy machinery and excessive noise levels while maintaining a high level of situational awareness.
- Exposure to Adverse Weather Conditions: Work in various temperatures and weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Rough Terrain Navigation: Maneuver through uneven terrain while maintaining balance and control.
- Safety Enforcement: Assist in enforcing on-the-job safety practices to safeguard employees and the public.
- Herbicide Application: Apply herbicides and growth regulators as necessary.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a truck with an attached brush chipper.
- Maintenance and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear required PPE at all times while on the job site.
- Physical Abilities: Enter and exit vehicles frequently, withstand exposure to various weather conditions, and lift/move up to 50 pounds infrequently and 30 pounds frequently.
- Communication Skills: Read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively with colleagues, and represent the company professionally.
- Operational Skills: Safely operate and service required tools and equipment, possess a valid driver's license, and pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Certifications and Licenses: Maintain a herbicide applicator or operator certification and license, hold valid First-Aid and CPR cards.
