Groundworker Specialist

Wright Tree Service is seeking a highly skilled Groundworker Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our arboriculture maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient removal of trees and other vegetation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in various activities, including cutting brush, loading trucks, working around hazardous equipment, and enforcing on-the-job safety practices.

• Cuts Brush and Logs: Utilize chainsaws to cut and clear brush and logs from work sites.
• Loading and Unloading Trucks: Safely load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Works Around Hazardous Equipment: Operate around heavy machinery and excessive noise levels while maintaining a high level of situational awareness.
• Exposure to Adverse Weather Conditions: Work in various temperatures and weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Rough Terrain Navigation: Maneuver through uneven terrain while maintaining balance and control.
• Safety Enforcement: Assist in enforcing on-the-job safety practices to safeguard employees and the public.
• Herbicide Application: Apply herbicides and growth regulators as necessary.
• Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a truck with an attached brush chipper.
• Maintenance and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and stored.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear required PPE at all times while on the job site.
• Physical Abilities: Enter and exit vehicles frequently, withstand exposure to various weather conditions, and lift/move up to 50 pounds infrequently and 30 pounds frequently.
• Communication Skills: Read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively with colleagues, and represent the company professionally.
• Operational Skills: Safely operate and service required tools and equipment, possess a valid driver's license, and pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Certifications and Licenses: Maintain a herbicide applicator or operator certification and license, hold valid First-Aid and CPR cards.
