About the Role

Metropolitan Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Multilingual Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Merrionette Park team, you will play a vital role in empowering families to reach their full potential and positively impact their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough, in-depth assessments for various program services, including intake as assigned.
  • Case Management and Counseling: Provide a full range of case management, counseling, advocacy, educational, and related services to clients.
  • Community Resource Development: Learn and utilize agency and community resources to support clients.
  • Community Outreach: Assess community conditions affecting clients to identify resource gaps and problems, and recommend financial assistance as needed.
  • Group Services: Provide group services as indicated by program need.
  • Community Representation: Represent and interpret programs of the agency in the community.
  • Committee Participation: May serve on regional or agency-wide committees.
  • Direct Service and Recordkeeping: Meet agency expectations for quantity of direct service and comply with agency recordkeeping expectations.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university required.
  • Counseling Experience: Two years of counseling experience or related work experience required.
  • Licensure: Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) preferred.
  • Transportation: Must have access to a vehicle, proof of insurance, and a valid driver's license.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingualism: Bilingual in Spanish required.
