Position Overview

Apogee Research is at the forefront of developing innovative distributed systems that are engineered to function reliably in challenging and resource-limited environments. Our approach integrates tailored software solutions with feedback control mechanisms to adaptively select algorithms based on real-time environmental data.

We are seeking skilled engineers to conceptualize and execute novel algorithms across various critical areas, including networking, distributed data integration, resource allocation, electronic warfare, and Command and Control (C2) systems. Candidates with a background in systems control will find this role particularly relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design algorithms for distributed sensor networks and C2 systems that operate in unpredictable and dynamic conditions. Specific tasks may involve:
  1. Adjusting jamming or sensing resources to ensure adequate coverage during simultaneous operations
  2. Implementing feedback-driven modifications in data compression or error correction protocols to adapt to fluctuations in link performance or data sharing requirements
  3. Integrating and tracking data from diverse sensor networks
Analyze and characterize the stability of nonlinear systems through both theoretical and experimental methodsCollaborate with team members to deploy algorithms in physical hardware and validate their performance through laboratory and flight testingAssist in the creation of software tools that empower contractors and military personnel to effectively utilize feedback control in their operations

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in real-world systems focusing on control or algorithm development
  • A proven history of working in research settings while being attuned to customer requirements and developing practical systems
  • Proficiency in software development using languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, or Java
  • Strong foundation in probability and statistics
  • Ability to adapt and maintain organization in a fast-paced work environment
