Echo Sonographer Weekend Option

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Echo Sonographer to join our team at St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis. As a key member of our Cardiology department, you will perform diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Perform diagnostic procedures, record patient test results, and report results.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
- Maintain adequate supplies and verify all equipment is in proper working condition, reporting deficiencies and failures.
- Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other areas.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
A graduate of a Sonography program is required. No experience is necessary, but a strong foundation in cardiac sonography is preferred.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires constant standing and walking, frequent use of vision and depth perception, and frequent use of hearing and speech. Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing 25-50 pounds may be required.
Required Professional Licenses and CertificationsA Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association is required. A Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is also required.
