Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at OhioGuidestone. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will work with clients to develop a service relationship and provide cognitive-behavioral therapy to assist individuals struggling with emotional and behavioral health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a service relationship with clients, family, and caregivers to provide support as needed.
  • Review diagnostic evaluations and assessments to aid in the development and implementation of a client's individualized treatment plan.
  • Provide Ohio Department of Medicaid behavioral health and addiction services within scope of practice.
  • Assess clients for high-risk behavior and teach social, coping, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Provide first-line crisis intervention and mediation as necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison to coordinate referrals or arrange for community resources as needed.
  • Perform related administrative responsibilities, including maintaining client information, reports, and records.
Requirements
  • High school diploma with 3 years of mental health or related experience, or Associate's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field with 1 year of mental health or related experience.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences, learning and motivation, and psychological research methods.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emotional and mental dysfunctions.
  • Computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic database usage.
  • Organizational skills, team player, and attention to detail.
