Safety and Security Officer

Job Summary:

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within the healthcare environment. Your role will involve monitoring the premises, responding to various security incidents, and acting as a visible deterrent to potential issues. You will investigate unusual occurrences, assist in de-escalation efforts, and enforce security protocols as needed.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of one year of experience in a security role or an equivalent background is required.

Educational Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Training Requirements:

Candidates must provide proof of completion of a Froedtert-approved Defense and Arrest Techniques (DAAT) course within the last three years or demonstrate the ability to obtain certification within 120 days of employment. Additionally, completion of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-700 and ICS-100 courses is required within six months of hire. Participation in the Field Training Officer (FTO) program must also be completed within 120 days. Note that training may vary by site.

Familiarity with CCTV systems and their operation is preferred.

Special Skills:

The ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs occasionally, generate push-pull forces up to 100 lbs occasionally, and perform occasional stair climbing is essential. Frequent walking and the capability to transition from floor to standing independently are also required.

Licensure:

A valid driver's license is necessary. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or an equivalent approved course must be obtained within three months of employment.
