Critical Care Float Nurse Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Critical Care Float Nurse to join our team at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
About the Role
This is a full-time position with a (.9) FTE schedule, working 36 hours per week with (3) 12-hour shifts. You will have the flexibility to self-schedule in (4) week time blocks, with rotating weekend and holiday shifts required.
As a Critical Care Float Nurse, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides care to patients across various critical care units. Your expertise and passion for delivering high-quality patient care will make a significant impact on our patients' lives.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies, according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise the plan of care based on patient response to interventions.
- Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
- Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice.
- Actively participate as a team member working towards team goals of the unit and organization, being accountable for unit and system-specific metrics.
- Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A graduate degree from a specialty training program.
- A minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) certification.
- BLS certification within 6 months.
