Overview:

The Good Samaritan Society seeks a highly skilled and motivated Culinary Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and serving of high-quality food to our patients, residents, and staff.

Job Summary:

The Culinary Team Lead will perform all duties in food preparation as assigned, providing daily direction to cooks and other assigned areas to ensure all departmental standards and goals are met. The successful candidate will prepare, cook, season, and portion food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors of the designated facility, preparing and serving food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements. Additionally, they will adhere to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation, performing washing and cleaning duties to insure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas. They will maintain labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery, and prepare and provide the highest quality and safest food possible to patients/residents, co-workers, team members, and guests.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare, cook, season, and portion food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors of the designated facility
- Provide daily direction to cooks and other assigned areas to ensure all departmental standards and goals are met
- Adhere to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
- Perform washing and cleaning duties to insure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
- Maintain labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to perform basic math
- Possesses ability to work independently when necessary
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- On-the-job training will be provided
