Job Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals to residents in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to dietary standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation and serving within scheduled time frames
  • Clean and maintain food service areas, including kitchen and dining room
  • Assist in inventory control and supervise servers as needed
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures
  • Ensure resident diets are followed and meals are accounted for daily
  • Report any loss, breakage, or waste of supplies and equipment
  • Communicate problems or potential problems to the Culinary Service Director
Requirements
  • Serve Safe Certification required
  • Working knowledge of health and safety regulations in food preparation
  • Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
Working Environment

The Cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, interacting with residents, staff, and management. The ability to work with little or no supervision and maintain a professional demeanor under stress is essential.
