Job Title: Sous Chef

About the Role:

The Sous Chef will report directly to the Executive Chef/Chef Manager and be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in menu planning, preparation, and presentation to meet customer expectations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the culinary team, ensuring efficient food production and presentation.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor, and inventory to meet budgetary guidelines.
  • Develop and implement culinary standards, recipes, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef/Chef Manager to plan and execute catering operations, special events, and menu promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer feedback and concerns.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
