Job Summary

The Medical Technologist FSED is a key member of our clinical laboratory team at TriStar Summit Medical Center. This role is responsible for collecting and preparing specimens, performing laboratory procedures, and verifying, recording, and reporting lab results in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory procedures.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including test analyses and reporting, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Verify and record lab results, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and report any discrepancies or issues to laboratory management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or other life science from an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant generalist clinical laboratory experience within the last five years or a Bachelor's degree in laboratory medical technology with clinical rotation.
  • National Registration as an MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(ASCP), or equivalent (e.g., AMT, AAB, HEW), or registry-eligible at date of hire.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, patient families, and vendors.
