Exhibit Craftsman

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Deeplocal. As a Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality work on a variety of exhibit and interactive experience fabrication tasks.

• Fabrication: Detailed, high-quality fabrication of custom components in metal, wood, and plastics.
• Finishing: Painting and bodywork (e.g. Bondo) of exhibits and sub-components.
• Problem Solving: Deeplocal creates innovative, first-of-its-kind interactive exhibits, often requiring problem-solving and communication with different disciplines.
• Maintaining Equipment and Supplies: Inspect the work area and machines used during the day, order new parts and supplies as necessary, and with approval from management.
• Collaborating: Work with a team to ensure project requirements are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.

• High degree of technical ability in commercial, fine art, or interactive exhibit fabrication.
• Experience with millwork, cabinetry, body work, airbrush, and HVLP spray gun preferred.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills.
• A strong attention to detail, and the ability to think quickly and solve problems.
• Creative thinker and problem-solver who is comfortable with ambiguity.
• Excited by new challenges and never-been-done-before work.
• Demonstrated ability to follow quality and safety standards.
• Embrace and help lead production towards more digital manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of cut lists and blueprint specifications.
• Ability to read measuring tools and other shop tools.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable and responsible.
• Computer skills required, Google Suite experience is preferred.

This is a studio/shop-based position, with responsibilities heavily dependent on being in the studio or shop on a daily basis during core business hours. Fabricators will be required to travel for the installation and on-site finishing of interactive exhibits, and may occasionally work evenings and weekends to meet project timelines.
