Job Title: Construction Manager - Retail Development

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to oversee all aspects of ground-up commercial retail development projects in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing construction projects from inception to completion, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for ground-up commercial retail development projects in New Jersey.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures as needed to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, and coordinate deliveries to the construction site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess quality, safety, and workmanship standards.
  • Implement and enforce site safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and as-built drawings.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, resolve disputes, and address any issues that may arise during construction.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in ground-up commercial retail development projects in New Jersey.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in New Jersey.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore and MS Office suite.
  • Experience in strong civil construction for demo and excavation of land required.
  • Experience in civil land development projects preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
