Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Nutrition Assistant to join our team at Rockwood R-6 School District. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students by providing high-quality meal preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve school meals to students in a safe and sanitary environment
  • Operate Point of Sale system and maintain accurate cash control procedures
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining the food service work area, adhering to USDA, State, and County Health Department regulations
  • Perform tasks related to food service operations, including ordering supplies and inventory control
  • Report any potentially unsanitary or unsafe conditions to the supervisor
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to work with others in a cooperative and productive manner
  • Physically able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Positive interest in children and school food service
Working Conditions

The Nutrition Assistant will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with temperatures ranging from hot to cold. The employee will be required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, lift, twist, bend, and reach while performing duties.
