Job Summary

At FIRST CHOICE PRIMARY CARE, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and education.

Key Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Dental Hygienist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Care and Education:
    • Conduct routine dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, to maintain patients' oral health.
    • Apply preventive treatments, such as sealants and fluoride, to prevent dental disease.
    • Take and evaluate x-rays to identify signs of dental disease and abnormalities.
    • Examine patients' mouths to detect oral diseases, such as gingivitis and cavities.
    • Conduct periodontal screenings and charting to assess gum health and provide personalized care.
    • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing and flossing, and nutrition to prevent oral disease.
  • Infection Control and Sterilization:
    • Adhere to all infection control protocols and FQHC standards to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
    • Assemble and sterilize instruments, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.
    • Clean and maintain treatment rooms before and after patient visits to maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Accurately document patient care and treatment plans in the EHR system to ensure seamless communication and care coordination.
    • Monitor supply inventories and place orders for hygiene materials to maintain a well-stocked and efficient practice.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Community Outreach:
    • Participate in outreach programs to educate the community on oral health and further the FQHC's mission of improving healthcare access.
  • Other Duties:
    • Stay updated with industry advancements and complete continuing education as required to maintain licensure and stay current with best practices.
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support clinic operations and ensure seamless delivery of patient care.
