Medical Assistant Full Scope Radiology Tech

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant Full Scope Radiology Tech to join our team at West Grand Clinic Family Medicine in Billings, Montana. As a Medical Assistant Full Scope Radiology Tech, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint.
- Assist with examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- May be required to draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Perform routine tests, including EKGs, hearing, and vision screens, as requested by the provider.
- Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow up as necessary.
- Communicate test results to patients and establish a plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider.
- Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment.
- Stock patient exam rooms and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
- Ensure safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required.
- Perform clinical diagnostic x-rays and prepare completed studies for provider review.
- Perform all required processor and equipment maintenance and quality control processes.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.
- Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Position patients and take X-rays of specific body parts as requested by the provider.
- Process film and check X-ray for clarity of image; retake when necessary.
- Distribute X-ray to appropriate medical staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current/valid registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
- Current Full Scope certification and State Licensure.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire (with prior approval).
- Minimum of 3 months of previous experience within a healthcare setting.
- Successful completion of initial MA onboarding program within 90 days, annual skills fair, and in-services for site-specific tasks.
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
