Position Details:
We are currently seeking dedicated educators for our elementary schools, which encompass grades K - 4. Our schools are in different phases of development, and as we expand, we will add grade levels annually until we reach full capacity. When applying for a position with KIPP Chicago, candidates will be considered for openings across all campuses that align with their experience.

Teaching Structure:
In our kindergarten classrooms, teachers collaborate with Co-Teachers. For grades 1 - 4, teachers typically manage their classrooms independently for the majority of the day, supported by Paraprofessionals and Diverse Learners Teachers as required by students' IEPs. Teachers in grades K - 2 instruct all subjects, while those in grades 3 and 4 specialize in specific areas.

  • Conduct regular assessments and analyze data to inform instructional strategies.
  • Utilize differentiated instruction techniques to engage all students effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share responsibility for student success.

Qualifications:
To qualify for the position of Elementary Educator, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • An Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) for new hires.
  • A pending PEL, ELS, or SUB license, along with meeting the testing requirements of Illinois Charter Law.
  • A minimum of two years of successful teaching experience in urban settings is preferred.
  • A cleared background check prior to employment.
