- The selected individual will be responsible for managing their own call schedule, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with existing staff members to meet the needs of patients.
- Inpatient practice: The urologist will work in an inpatient environment, focusing on patient admissions, management, and discharge planning.
- Patient load: 4-8 patients per shift allows for personalized attention and efficient case management.
- Beds in department: 32 beds are available for patient care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
- Rounding patients: The assigned urologist will round on both assigned and unassigned patients to ensure optimal care and outcomes.
- Admissions required: The successful candidate will need to manage admissions, working closely with the healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions and high-quality patient care.
- A valid Alabama medical license is mandatory for this position.
- Beeper service: A reliable beeper system will be provided to facilitate communication with the healthcare team.
- Response time: A prompt response time of 30 minutes is expected in emergency situations.
- Phone consults: The urologist will participate in 5-6 phone consultations with patients or colleagues, demonstrating effective communication skills.
- Patients seen: The successful candidate will see 2-3 patients per shift, allowing for thorough evaluations and treatments.
- Admissions: 1-2 admissions per shift are expected, showcasing the urologist's ability to manage complex cases.
- Cerner EMR: Familiarity with the Cerner electronic medical record system is essential for this role.
