Job Summary

The Direct Care Supervisor is a key member of our team at Lifesteps, Inc., responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Residential Community Living homes. This role involves supervising community home staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and promoting a culture of respect and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage community home staff, including scheduling, performance reviews, and training.
  • Oversee the care provided to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and respect.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of life for individuals in our care.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., human services, social work, psychology) or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of experience working in a human service or direct care setting.
  • Current driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 200 lbs. with assistance.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and ability to obtain Medication Administration Certification within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent credits (60) and two years of experience working in a human service or caregiving field.
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working in a human service, social service, or related field.
  • Degrees related to education, special education, counseling, therapy, psychology, sociology, social services, transition programming, nursing, health administration, or similar are preferred.
