Speech Therapist

Essential Functions:
- Screen, evaluate, and provide appropriate services to children with speech and language disorders at a middle school.
- Consult/collaborate with other school personnel regarding the communication of the child's needs and goals as set forth in the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Develop plans instructional materials for individual or group instruction to meet the needs of each child.
- Assess the progress of children on a regular basis.
- Maintain communication with parents to discuss progress on goals and provide activities for home to reinforce skills.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the field of speech-language pathology, child development, educational disabilities, and legal regulations regarding early intervention and special education.
- Ability to apply skills to school-based therapy by relating intervention programs to curricular outcomes.
- Effective oral and written communication, human relations, and time management skills.
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in speech-language pathology.
- Current licensure from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Maryland State Board of Audiologist, Hearing Aid Dispensers and Speech-Language Pathologists.
Estimated Salary: Based on the salary scale for teachers in Worcester County, the estimated annual salary for this position is around $60,000 - $80,000.
