Job Title: Secondary Guidance Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Secondary Guidance Counselor to join our team at Choctaw-Nicoma Park Public School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students in grades 7-12, helping them navigate the college and career readiness process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance program that meets the needs of all students
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students, focusing on academic and personal development
  • Assist students in exploring college and career options, including college applications and financial aid
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed
  • Stay up-to-date on college and career readiness requirements, ensuring students are prepared for post-secondary education and the workforce
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in School Counseling or related field
  • Secondary Guidance Counseling certification in the State of Oklahoma
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
