Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, now part of CommonSpirit Health. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a vital role in guiding patients through the labor and childbirth process, prioritizing the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.

Responsibilities
  • Triage patients to determine the best course of action for their care.
  • Support patients in labor, including induction, epidural assistance, and fetal monitoring.
  • Assist in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage, and emergency procedures.
  • Educate patients on various interventions and procedures, including medications, exams, and labor stages.
  • Assess newborns and provide care.
  • Communicate effectively with the care management team, including anesthesiologists, physicians, midwives, lactation nurses, charge nurses, postpartum unit staff, patients, and families.
Qualifications
  • 6 months of acute care experience in labor and delivery.
  • Minimum education as required for licensure.
  • BSN preferred. Moderate Sedation for all monitored areas preferred.
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS certifications required.
  • Current California license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must circulate C-sections.
  • Must float to Post Partum or NICU.
