Electromagnetic Interference Design Engineer

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and talented Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Design Analysis Engineer to join our team. As a member of our diverse and multi-disciplined team, you will be responsible for developing procedures, plans, and executing various EMI design activities for a multitude of systems ranging from submersible to space platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform design and analysis of systems using HFSS and other software packages.
  • Coordinate test and verify EMI design requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects.
  • Develop control plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Perform design analysis and implementation mitigation mechanisms to ensure EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Evaluation of design drawings to verify and correct system design to MIL-STD-461 standards.
  • Review supplier and partner qualification data for electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical electronic systems, mechanical systems interconnect and structures.
  • Perform EMI/EMC nuclear hardening, HIRF, Lightning, RF co-site and antenna coupling analysis and test.
  • Apply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems.
  • Perform trade studies modeling simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component interconnects and system performance and to optimize design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Engineering Physics Technology and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • 2+ years experience with EMI/EMC design required.
  • Experience with RF isolation, shielding, grounding and filtering.
  • Ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Active US DOD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience with HFSS software package highly preferred.
  • International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) EMI/EMC engineer certification.
  • Familiarization of RF and measurement instrumentation such as receivers, antennas, analyzers and amplifiers.
